SUWON, South Korea — Ukiuki was featured in Modern Cat, one of the most widely read pet magazines in North America. Here’s the story of how a small Korean cat treat brand made it into print across the U.S. and Canada.

Building a Sales Presence in North America
Throughout the year, Ukiuki had been working to establish stronger sales channels in the United States and Canada. We had planned to attend two pet industry exhibitions in June, but unfortunately both were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the setback, our marketing efforts continued. We had already placed advertisements and a promotional article in Modern Cat magazine — and the results were well worth it.
How We Connected with Modern Cat
The connection began at a pet industry exhibition in Las Vegas. There, we met a reporter who introduced us to the magazine. Beyond the introduction, he shared valuable insights about doing business in the North American market — advice that proved useful long after the event.
Building relationships with media professionals turned out to be one of the most impactful steps in our international expansion.

Ukiuki in Print: Modern Cat Magazine
Our brand appeared prominently in the magazine, featured at the top of the page. The article included a link to our Amazon US store rather than our international website. This was a deliberate choice — Amazon provides a more familiar and accessible shopping experience for English-speaking customers, especially since our certifications and awards were originally in Korean.
With our U.S. trademark registration already completed, we had a fully established Amazon Brand Store ready for new customers coming from the magazine.

Eco-Bag Feature
In the same issue, our Ukiuki eco-bag was also featured on a product page. The editor personally mentioned that he loved our products, which led to the editorial coverage.
Continuing the Challenge
Every day at Ukiuki is a new challenge. From a small office in Korea to the pages of a North American magazine, we continue to push forward — one step at a time.
From a small Korean startup in 2014 to the pages of a North American magazine — UKIUKI’s global journey continues.
